Ushapan - Ayurvedic Water Consumption in the Morning

In Ayurveda, drinking a certain amount of water at dawn is known as ushapan. Ushapan, a Rasayana Therapy in Ayurveda, is crucial to the practice's preventive approach. As Naturefit provides Online Consultation with Ayurvadic Doctors all Over India.

Morning water consumption can help manage and avoid gastrointestinal issues like constipation, malabsorption, and piles. Blood and urine diseases are also helped by it. It helps with illnesses of the head, nose, ear, and throat as well as other upper body areas. It is very helpful in both preventing and treating skin conditions.

Three different types of containers are typically used to store water for Ushapan overnight.

1) Golden Container

2) Earthenware jar.

3) Metal Pot

Water preserved in a golden jar should be consumed by thin people, Vata and Pitta body types, and those with these body types. You can drink water that has been preserved in an overnight earthen pot if you cannot buy a golden vessel.

Each person requires a different amount of water. How much water you can fit in 8 Anjali depends on that.

Sanskrit meaning "concavity made by attaching both hands" is "Anjali." The phrase "8 Anjali" refers to the volume of water that can fit inside the concavity made by affixing two hands eight times. For instance, if one Anjali can carry 100 ml of water, then 800 ml is the recommended daily intake of drinking water.

Usha and Paan make up the word ushapaan. Usha denotes dawn, while Paan denotes consumption. It happens immediately before sunrise when the light starts to become visible everywhere but the sun has not yet risen in the sky. The timing is right now.

According to Ayurveda, you should get up at Brahma Muhurta, which is roughly 96 minutes before sunrise. Usha, or dawn, refers to the time just before sunrise. Therefore, there is a gap of about 60 minutes between Brahma Muhurta and Dawn.
